Project case study

Packington Estate

Key Information

Client:
Rydon Construction
Location:
Islington, North London
This project involved the regeneration of the Packington Estate in Islington North London where we have worked closely with Rydon Construction / Hyde Housing and their associated consultants and architects. Originally some 8 blocks of residential apartments dating from the 1960’s have been systematically demolished and new buildings providing over 700 units erected on the foot print.

The Challenge

Our works include for all infrastructure installations for local electrical authority supply, Fibre telephone system and Integrated Reception Systems for Sky Q, Freeview, Hotbird etc.

Within the communal area’s of the building we have installed general power and lighting systems, emergency lighting, supplies, both normal and alternative to mechanical service elements, lifts etc with the associated Automatic transfer switches where required.

In the apartments we have ensured that durable whilst aesthetic accessories and light fittings have been used in the installation.

All light fittings for instance utilise LED technology for lower running costs and durability.

All apartments have a video door entry system with fob access for the residents, Certain other communal doors can also be programmed to provide fob access for residents, i.e. cycle stores.
