02 Mar Trainee Estimator Plumbing & Mechanical
Watkins is a family owned Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing contractor located in the South East, the company has now been trading over 50 years. We are currently looking for a Trainee Estimator – Mechanical & Plumbing to join the team on a full time, permanent basis. You’ll be working as part of a successful well-established team, where you will be a support to the Estimation department on several projects. The role is based in Ramsgate, Kent, however, some trips to London, where the most sites are based, are anticipated.
Watkins is committed to the training and development of all their trainees to produce a skilled workforce needed for the years ahead. You will be provided with full training as required.
As a trainee Estimator you will be joining a successful well-established team, where you will be a support to the team members on several projects.
Watkins specialize in high-end residential projects as well as industrial, commercial, retail, education, and health sectors.
As the Trainee you will need to be proactive in your approach to work in helping the others to produce accurate tender submissions, your duties will require you to interpret the client’s requirements from specifications and drawings prepare material take off’s and help produce competitive tenders.
After a period of training, you will be expected to work solo and produce work with competence.
You will be required to be customer focused and when required can develop and maintain a strong relationship with clients and supply chain members.
After a period of training, you will be required to attend “Pre / Mid / Post Tender Meetings” and “Site Visits” and assessing all salient requirements of the project.
- Good A Levels including Maths and English.
You will need to have good communication skills both written and verbal, be self-motivated and able to take responsibility. The ability to plan workload for themselves with others to ensure delivery to deadlines.
You will be able to demonstrate initiative and a proactive approach to daily tasks with a flexible attitude and the ability to work as part of a team.
You will need good computer skills and a knowledge of Excel, Word, Powerpoint.
- This position is full-time/permanent Monday – Friday 8.00am – 5.00pm.
