Watkins is a family owned Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing contractor located in the South East, the company has now been trading over 50 years. We are currently looking for a Trainee Design / CAD Technician to join the team on a full time, permanent basis. You’ll be working as part of the team delivering some of the largest & most complex residential building services projects across the South East. The role is based in Ramsgate, Kent.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Working as a Trainee Design / CAD Technician you will join the company’s busy Technical and Design Team, where you will support the business on a number of projects.

As the Trainee Design / CAD Technician, you will be keen, enthusiastic, and hardworking individual and will work alongside an experienced CAD Technician, where you will assist in providing specialist service producing drawings through interpretation of verbal instructions, sketches, specifications, surveys etc.

The applicant will not need previous experience. However, you will need to have a keen interest in design and technical drawings, along with excellent computer skills. As a successful candidate you will receive full on the job training in the latest version of Auto CAD (2D & 3D) and REVIT.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Good A Levels or Equivalent.

THE INDIVIDUAL:

You will need to have good communication skills both written and verbal, be self-motivated and able to take responsibility. You will be able to demonstrate initiative and a proactive approach to daily tasks with a flexible attitude and the ability to work as part of a team. You will have excellent computer skills and a knowledge of MS Office.
