Watkins is a family owned Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing contractor located in the South East, the company has now been trading over 50 years. Watkins work predominantly in the residential and commercial sectors with a target range between 500k -20000k.

We are currently looking to recruit an MEP/Revit AutoCAD Technician.


  • Responsible for producing AutoCAD / Revit drawings for all stages of Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing design, installation and the delivery of projects.
  • Proven experience of Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing engineering and knowledge of AutoCAD/Revit and 3D coordination is essential.
  • In addition, a flexible team member, able to work effectively alone or as part of a team and will have proven ability to work under pressure and meeting deadlines.


  • Setup drawings and make ready for other team members to work on.
  • Review project files for compliance with standards/protocols.
  • Implement best practice procedures.
  • Produce accurate 2D drawings, 3D models using AutoCAD & Revit.
  • Production of fully co-ordinated working drawings from design intent drawings, sketches etc.
  • Production of drawing sections and details to demonstrate practical installations.
  • Co-ordinate multi service drawings to ensure spatial limitations are achieved.
  • Liaise with engineers, design team to resolve design problems, technical queries of on-going site installation.
  • Produce as built drawings from site survey/marked up installation drawings.
  • Coordinate drawing production in line with project programme requirements and in conjunction with others.
  • Capable of working in Revit environment to BIM Level 2 standards
  • Helping to technically deliver CAD/BIM projects in the role of CAD and BIM coordinator.
  • Provide drawings and technical information related to the project and requirements of the client.
  • Modelling and co-ordination of MEP services i.e. ductwork, pipework, cable tray etc. using AutoCAD & Revit MEP.
  • Create and amending families of Revit MEP Objects/tags/annotations.
  • Create legends & schedules.
  • Create templates for each discipline/sub-discipline.
  • Able to meet tight deadlines and able to work alone or with a team.
  • Maintaining CAD library.
  • Set up of Revit library/families.
  • Check work for accuracy and quality control purposes.
  • Liaise with the team leader regarding workload and delivery of drawings in accordance with required timescales.
  • Keeping directory of drawings up to date and documented.
  • Identify your own training & development requirements.
  • To contribute or otherwise assist as required.

The role will encompass assistance with initiating BIM into the company and support the development of Revit usage within the growing market.
