Watkins recently had the privilege of presenting the East Kent Colleges Group ‘Electrician of the Year’ award to both Sophia and Lindan.
They are both currently studying Level 2 Electrical Installation and were two of our highest-achieving students. They were awarded a nine-piece hand tool by the College and a £100 monetary prize from us. Both Sophia and Lindan are now undertaking progression routes into further qualifications.
Frances and Fraser Williams, mother and son, set up this award in honour of Llewellyn Williams, who was a lecturer at the College for over 30 years.
Fraser Williams, Head of Estimating at Watkins, says, “Having attended the course myself, I understand what a fantastic opportunity it is to help craft a career. We will continue to support the course in the hopes of inspiring the students to do the same, just as he did.”
We are proud to be ongoing supporters of the EKC College and are currently working together to find an apprentice for our Finance team and a CAD trainee.
